Who We Are
Edwards Lifesciences is the global leader in the science of heart valves and hemodynamic monitoring. Driven by a passion to help patients, the company partners with clinicians to develop innovative technologies in the areas of structural heart disease and critical care monitoring that enable them to save and enhance lives.

Our History
Our history dates back to 1958 when Miles "Lowell" Edwards partnered with Dr. Albert Starr to develop the world's first replacement heart valve. This was the catalyst for developing many life-saving and enhancing technologies that have transformed patient care and kept Edwards at the forefront of innovation. Now, more than 50 years later, Edwards has grown into a global company with a presence in approximately 100 countries and more than 7,000 employees around the world. Each one of them is dedicated to furthering Lowell's original vision to help clinicians, patients and their families work together as a community united in fighting cardiovascular disease and providing technologies for the critically ill.

What We Do
We partner with physicians to innovate products designed to help patients live longer, healthier and more productive lives. We focus on medical technologies that address large and growing patient populations in which there are significant unmet clinical needs, such as structural heart disease and critical care monitoring.

Our Leaders
Our board of directors and executive leadership team are guided by Our Credo and are passionate about helping patients and meeting the needs of all of our stakeholders. These executives serve as leaders not only for our employees, but also for the medical device industry and our global communities.

The Edwards Lifesciences Fund
As part of our commitment to our global community, we provide philanthropic support to important health-related and community causes. The Edwards Lifesciences Fund supports advancements in knowledge and improvements in quality of life, focusing primarily upon cardiovascular disease and the communities where our employees live and work.

Financial Relationships with U.S. Physicians
We believe that bringing transparency to our relationships with physicians will help the public better understand the critical role that physicians play in the advancement of medical technology and patient care.
